This week we will learn about violin.The history of bowed string musical instruments in Europe goes back to the 9th century with the lira (orlūrā, Greek: λύρα) of the Byzantine Empire, a bowed instrument (held upright). The Persian geographerIbn Khurradadhbih (d. 911) of the 9th century, was the first to cite the bowed Byzantine lira as a typical instrument of the Byzantines and equivalent to the rabāb used in the Islamic Empires of that time.The Byzantine lira spread through Europe westward and in the 11th and 12th centuries European writers use the terms fiddle and lira interchangeably when referring to bowed instruments (Encyclopædia Britannica. 2009). In the meantime rabāb was introduced to the Western Europe possibly through the Iberian Peninsula and both bowed instruments spread widely throughout Europe giving birth to various European bowed instruments.

Beyonce's Biography

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles (Houston, 4 de Setembro de 1981),4 mais conhecida simplesmente como Beyoncé, é uma cantora, compositora,atriz, dançarina, coreógrafa, arranjadora vocal, produtora, diretora de vídeo e empresária americana nascida e criada em Houston, no Texas.5 Cantora desde a infância, Beyoncé se tornou conhecida no ano de 1997, como vocalista do grupo feminino de R&B Destiny's Child, que já vendeu mais de 50 milhões de discos mundialmente.6

Sasha Fierce, foi lançado em Novembro de 2008. Também teve um desempenho comercial muito favorável, sendo certificado pela ABPD como disco de diamante.10 A música "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" foi uma das músicas do seu terceiro álbum que mais se destacou, se tornando o seu quinto single em primeiro lugar na Billboard Hot 100.11 Nos Grammy Awards de 2010, Beyoncé se tornou a artista feminina que mais foi premiada em apenas uma edição da premiação, por vencer seis das dez categorias em que estava concorrendo.12 Atualmente Beyoncé já ganhou ao longo de sua carreira 17 Grammys (14 em carreira solo e 3 com o grupo Destiny's Child). Ela é um dos artistas que mais ganhou esse prêmio.13

Sua carreira como atriz teve início em 2001, quando interpretou Carmen Brown no filme Carmen: A Hip Hopera. Beyoncé também atuou em outros filmes, como Austin Powers in Goldmember, Resistindo às Tentações,Dreamgirls e outros. Sua atuação no filme Dreamgirls lhe rendeu duas indicações ao Globo de Ouro nas categorias Melhor atriz em um filme, comédia ou musical e Melhor canção original para a música "Listen".14Junto com a sua mãe, Tina Knowles, ela lançou em 2004 uma linha de roupas chamada House of Deréon. A maior inspiração foi sua avó, chamada Agnèz Deréon.15 Beyoncé já trabalhou para marcas como Pepsi,Tommy Hilfiger, Armani e L'Oréal. Em 2009 a revista Forbes elegeu Beyoncé como a cantora mais rica do mundo com menos de 30 anos de idade, por ter arrecadado mais de 87 milhões de dólares no período de 2008 a 2009.16 17

Até 2010 Beyoncé possui cinco singles em primeiro lugar na Billboard Hot 100.18 Ao longo de sua carreira ela já vendeu mais de 115 milhões de discos em todo o mundo isso fez dela um dos artistas de música quemais venderam discos de todos os tempos.19 De acordo com a gravadoraSony Music em Outubro de 2009, se juntar as vendas de discos de Beyoncé e do Destiny's Child o resultado irá ultrapassar mais de 130 milhões de discos vendidos.20 A revista Billboard colocou Beyoncé em quarto lugar na lista dos melhores artistas da década de 2000, aparece também no nono lugar, com o grupo Destiny's Child.21 Em Fevereiro de 2010 a RIAA listou Beyoncé como a artista que mais recebeu certificações na década.22 No mesmo ano o VH1 colocou Beyoncé no número 52 em sua lista dos 100 Maiores Artistas de Todos os Tempos.23 Em 2011 durante a premiação do Billboard Music Awards, Beyoncé recebeu o premio de Billboard Millennium Award.24 Em 2011 a revista Forbes listou as mulheres afro-americanasmais poderosas nos Estados Unidos e colocou Beyoncé em primeiro de sua lista.25 E, em 2012 o VH1 colocou Beyoncé no número 3 em sua lista das 100 Grandes Mulheres na Música.26
